Buy

A "Buy" position is traders betting that a certain stock will raise in value.

It is also called "Call Option".

Candles

Candles are the bars shown in trading graphics.

Being able to read these graphics is basic in order to find good entry points, tendencies and much more tech data.

Pip

"Pips" is the name give for each single movement on a stocks value, either up or down.

Resistance

Resistance points are levels a stock reaches that are considered difficult for a certain stock to cross. They can be up or bottoms.

These resistance points are often seen as levels that if crossed will take stocks either jumping upwards or starting a downfwall spiral, depending on each case.

Sell

A "Sell" position is a trader betting that a certain stock will lower its value.

It is also called "Put Option".

The coloquial name for a Sell position is "Shorting".

SL or Stop Loss

Trading positions can be set up to automatically stop open positions (or sell stock) as soon as they reach a certain loss or low value.

This is especially useful in order to protect your account from possible sudden value loss in open positions.

These automatic set ups are called "SL" or "Stop Loss".

TP or Take Profit

Trading positions can be set up to automatically stop open positions (or sell stock) as soon as they reach a certain gains level or value.

These automatic set ups are called "TP" or "Take Profit".
